The beaches of the Riserva Orientata di Vendicari: Marianelli

Among the usable beaches within the Vendicari Reserve, that of Marianelli or “do’ Iancu” beach, as the locals call it., located between the beaches of Eloro and Calamosche is undoubtedly the most secluded and wild, less easy to reach, isolated and unspoiled, ideal in short for those who love privacy and tranquility. The shoreline, which is reached at the end of a walk of about 10 minutes along a dirt path, is mostly sandy, characterized by the typical fine and tenuously golden sand, but rocky stretches also alternate. Frequently this beach takes on a fascinatingly wild appearance due to the scattered presence of reeds and tree trunks smoothed by the age-old workings of sea water. Frequent visitors to this secluded corner of the sea are lovers of naturism and despite the absence of specific official authorization Marianelli is listed among the main Sicilian beaches in which to do naturism.
