DESCRIPTION

Punta Cirica

The beach of Punta Cirica certainly can be called a small “paradise on earth,” a precious hidden jewel. This stretch of coastline, in the Hyblaean coast overlooking the Mediterranean, owes its peculiarity to the presence of wide stretches of white tuff cliffs, some “active” that is, bathed by the sea, others on the other hand, called in technical terms “inactive” because a strip of sandy beach separates them from the sea. But it is precisely this game of alternation that constitutes the charm of this truly unique seaside setting, due to the presence of delightful coves and real, very shallow salt lakes, ideal for safe and fun bathing for the little ones. Adults, on the other hand, can have fun exploring the many caves of the most varied shapes that open up in the tufa cliff, eroded by the constant work of the breaking of the sea water; an alternative for those who love to swim and go further out to sea is to visit the numerous stacks detached from the coast and scattered in the stretch of sea in front of the beach, among which, in particular, the Scoglio Iannuzzo stands out for its triangular shape. The absence of equipped areas allows this unspoiled strip of coastline, covered by the rich presence of the typical Mediterranean scrub vegetation, to maintain the timeless charm of its peculiarly naturalistic and wild character, favored by those who shy away from the most well-known and crowded beaches.
