Watermelon frost (or mellon)

It is a traditional Sicilian spoon dessert.

Ingredients for 4 persons, 1.5 kg watermelon without rind, 250g sugar, 80g cornstarch, 1 packet vanillin, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, to decorate pistachio granules, chocolate chips, jasmine flowers.

The breading

The impanata is a kind of covered savory pie, made with leavened bread dough, inside you can find different fillings, including one with sausage and meat sauce, cauliflower and lolli typical of Pachino, or with dogfish and potatoes characteristic of Marzamemi.
